Case Law

Registered nurse Diane Zalecki-Bertalan testified as an expert. She had taken sexual assault-focused courses in forensics; she had completed an FJC advanced strangulation course in San Diego; she was a sexual assault nurse; she was certified by the International Forensics Assocation. Based on her career and training, the court found her qualified to testify about strangulation mechanics.
