Power and Control Wheel for Latina Survivors
Power and control issues are at the core of intimate partner violence. There are a variety of ways that abusers use power and control over their victims, and the Power and Control Wheel is a tool frequently used to illustrate the different dimensions of domestic violence.
For Latinas and other survivors in immigrant communities, power and control by the abuser is amplified because of racism, lack of legal residency or citizenship status, language barriers, fear of losing employment, and custody issues surrounding their children.
This webinar will discuss these issues and present personal stories from Latina survivors as they share how they navigated to safety and healing without legal status in the United States.
